How could I do it?
How should I start?
Just a short glance
A quick look at him
And butterflies
Are driven crazy
Within me.
Why I realize now
My fondness for him
Escapes me
But my curiosity
Drives me to go
Gather my spirits
And say a single hello
But such a task
Such a dare
Is so frightening.
What would he think?
What would he do?
Would he smile
And greet me back
Or give me
An unsure look?
He hardly knows me,
But he knows I sing
He knows my talents
In arts.
Maybe I could appeal to him.
Maybe.
Just maybe...
He does stay
With his family
After the service
And I don't know
Anyone befriending
Him besides his
Relatives.
I know his issue.
He's probably shy, too.
Perhaps...
I could be the first...
And hopefully...
Be the last.

But I do know that you've had it rough
As I have felt the same
But you've suffered more in your distress
Making my past sorrows
Seem nothing more than a jest
Knowing atonement heralds tomorrow
Even so, I know the pain
And the committal to aid
In my heart has lain
Of course, if you desire it made
My heart, I swear, broke
When I heard of your troubled emotions
And the stress driving you to provoke
And this stayed in my notion
Maybe I could give comfort
Make the past easier to overlook
Together, rid of our contorts
And be each other's retreating nooks.

Red DeerRed Deer
It was Sunday, and I sat in the back
Of the sanctuary
I take out my sketchbook
Without hesitation
And begin to draw as I pleased.
Then all of a sudden, I have a visitor
Come sit next to me.
He looked just like him
With me hoping that he were the same person
And this not a dream
But he looked like him
And my heart began to race.
I continued sketching
With a red pencil,
Glancing at times to study his face,
Concentrated, appreciative and kind,
And I saw
Without him noticing.
I went on with my work
And I felt the red deer I drew come to life.
Does and bucks so swiftly drawn,
Their graceful figures
Fascinating to his bright eyes.
Soon enough, this illusion ended
With the wake of dawn,
Leaving me
Hoping that we were the doe and the buck.
